Chances are, your status as a military veteran instills a feeling of pride in your family. You have shown that you are willing to sacrifice your very life for the sake of your country. You have served your nation with distinction and honor. Through your tireless service, lives might have been saved and liberty secured.

Soldiers are dedicated individuals. They recognize that they must put forward their best effort each day. After all, lives may depend upon their ability to carry out their duties well. Consequently, your military experience is prima facie evidence of your dedication to your work.

You can handle responsibility

It takes a responsible person to work as a soldier. You have certain duties that you must perform well on a daily basis. You may also be responsible for other members of your unit. Therefore, serving in the military requires a certain level of maturity a maturity that can be a real asset in the civilian sector. It's important that you emphasize your ability to handle responsibility in any job interviews you undertake. Employers are looking for people who aren't afraid of responsibility - who are willing to handle their share of the workload. If you can demonstrate that you have that trait, you're far more likely to land a job.
