Many copy and print centers have professionals on staff that can perform this service, as do most career and job counselling agencies. Ask for samples of past work and pay close attention to the price list. Sometimes prices are set on an a la carte basis so that you pay a separate fee for each activity (proofreading, layout, printing, etc.), while other times prices are set up as packages that include several activities in the set price.

Full Service - When you need more extensive professional services, though, you need to do a bit more research to find someone whose skills and personality match up with your needs. The person you select should establish a good rapport with you from the start and ask good questions to draw out key information about your background. He or she should have the experience to then construct strong action and result statements that draw attention to your skills and attributes. In other words, you want someone who knows how to make maximum impact with the fewest words, helping your resume stand out from the rest of the crowd. You can expect to pay more for these advanced services, but it is usually money well spent.
